Weekend= September Success

This past weekend was probably my favorite weekend in all of September.  Many great things happened.

Friday night we stayed in a downtown Minneapolis hotel courtesy of Laura’s sister.  It was so much fun!  We ordered Pizza Luce (after many attempts at the room number we somehow still got it delivered).

"1810...1810...one eight one zero...Floor 18, room number 10"

We played fun, made up games (like 20 questions but even better).

Yay friends!

Then, after a restful night’s sleep we got a pleasant knock on our door, “Roomservice!” Yes, that’s right we ate breakfast in bed.

Rachel and I shared a plate of breakfast food.

After a successful girls night we journeyed home to beautify ourselves for Corey and Stacy’s wedding!

We enjoyed the great outdoors of Shoreview.

Tiffany and I took on the Marass brothers in ladder golf.  At one point the score was 18-4 with the girls ahead.  We definitely dominated that game.

This was when Tim yelled to Andy, "Andy! Watch how Amber is throwing!"

Our table had lots of fun together!

Even David got dressed up for the big day! (and managed not to photobomb the pic!)

Of course, this post would not be complete without a picture of the bride, Mrs. Stacy Kline!

Hooray old roommates!

Overall, weekend = success!

*some pictures by Laura*–thanks for having your camera friend =)

Fall clinches the magic

Goodbye summer, hello fall–it’s here and life has gotten suddenly busy (and magical for Twins fans!)  Here is a short summary of my (really busy September):

I’ve been hanging a lot with some of my favorite people!

Do you know who is who?

Special shout out to Laura for drawing such an awesome picture of our small group. Everyone will want to join us for sure!

I also forgot to mention we our friend Beth came with us on vacation!

We took Beth on vacation with us to Argentina.

Yes dear ones, that is Beth Moore with eating ice cream with us.  She’s going to be helping Laura and I lead a women’s large group Bible study at Hope.  We are so excited to start that up in a few weeks.  There has been lots of preparation/planning and it looks like we will have over 30 women joining us!  PTL!

Lastly, my September has been full of lots of baseball…I have one more home game and then maybe some playoff games to attend.  Of course there’s the blogs to follow, playoff talking to be done and the general education of people who do not know anything about the Twins.

Home sweet home

October is going to be magical that’s for sure.

Home, home is where we love the State Fair

I’ve been back in the good ‘ole US of A for almost two weeks now!  I’ve been crazy busy catching up on everything–work, the Twins, seeing friends, etc.  Some great times have been had to wrap up the summer, although when you are done with school summer is not really over until the date on the calendar tells me it’s fall.

The State Fair started 2 days after returning home…instead of working everyday at the fair like last year I just spent one weekend there–one day working and one day hanging out with friends, which made me appreciate the fair even more (and people here love their state fair).

We met up with some of our good friends, Joe and Justin

We really did eat our way through the fair this year--first stop sweet corn!

I tried the mashed potatoes on a stick and loved them!

After eating lots of food we stopped to brush our teeth!

Other highlights since being home include playing tour guide to my Italian cousin and his friends who just happened to be in Minneapolis for the weekend–we went to the Stone Arch bridge, the Guthrie and Chipotle (of course), where the manager gave them their dinners for free!

This weekend has included: movie in the park with friends, family hay wagon rides, movie night with some great girls, being reunited with Target Field and the Twins, driving my friends around south Minneapolis and listening to the Labor Day mix all Labor Day.  It’s been a good Labor Day–oh and have I mentioned that this is the first Labor Day in 2 years that I am not laboring (working), while it is and it’s good.
